What is PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana?
PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana empowers Indian households to adopt rooftop solar by offering subsidies up to 60 and 40 between 2 and 3 kW, with benefits capped at 3 kW. The scheme provides free rooftop solar installations to eligible households, aiming to cut electricity expenses by up to ₹15,000 annually for those consuming up to 300 units per month, while also generating additional income from surplus power.
Backed by a budget of ₹75,021 crore until 2026-27, the initiative is a major step toward India’s sustainable energy goals.
